He has been Senior Innovation Strategist at SAP Labs in Palo Alto, California and Global Head of the Gamification Initiative at SAP where he has worked for the past 14 years. He also co-founded in 2013 and leads the Austrian Innovation Center Silicon Valley (AICSV) In his work as head of the Gamification Initiative at SAP he has encountered and supported gamification efforts in the enterprise from multiple levels and departments, like Sustainability, On Demand, Mobile, HR, Training & Education, Banking etc. He has driven the awareness around gamification by organizing and leading innovation events around this topic, holding dozens of one- or two-day gamification workshops, working with gamification platform- & service-providers and game studios, consulting and advising organizations, and by incorporating gamification into SAP's strategy. He regularly speaks at and co-organizes conferences on gamification and innovation (amongst other topics). His large network in the gamification and innovation space allows him to pull in experts from every corner of the world into projects. Thanks to his blogs and activities around gamification, and of course people interested in this topic, in April 2013 he topped for the first time the global leaderboard of Gamification Gurus. He has been driving communities for more than 15 years, including communities on innovative topics, like Visual Composer, Business Process Experts, mobile, robotics, and gamification, but also folk-dancing (Dancilla) He has a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the Vienna University of Technology and an undergraduate degree in International Business Management from the Vienna University of Economy. YU-KAI CHOU is an experienced Entrepreneur as well as a Gamification Consultant & Speaker. He has been a regular speaker/lecturer on Gamification at organizations like Stanford University, Google Inc., The Internet Marketing Conference, Draper Richards Retreat, UCLA, UBC Sauders School of Business and many more.
Yu-kai was one of the earliest pioneers in Gamifcation, starting his work in the industry in 2003 and was rated as one of the Top 10 Gamification Gurus by Leaderboarded. Yu-kai is also the creator of The Complete Gamification Framework: Octalysis as well as the video series The Beginner's Guide to Gamification. He is the Co-Founder and Head of Product for RewardMe, a digital loyalty platform that aims to gamify offline commerce and was rated by AlwaysOn as one of the Top 10 Private Companies to Watch. RewardMe also won Best Commercial App at the first location-based service awards "The Locals." Yu-kai is also a Partner at the premium internet operations consulting firm Spark Solutions.
Prior to RewardMe and Spark Solutions, Yu-kai founded a variety of startups, including FDCareer (rated on Mashable as one of the Top 10 Social Networks for Gen-Ys) and Viralogy, a service that attracted hundreds of thousands of bloggers and social medians. ROMAN RACKWITZ is the founder and CEO of Engaginglab, one of Europe's earliest pioneers in Gamification. MARIGO RAFTOPOULOS is a business strategy consultant advising corporations, governments and technology incubators on innovation, strategy development and business transformation. Her current work focuses on assisting organisations to improve product development, organisational learning, knowledge management and customer engagement. Marigo established Strategic|Games|Lab to leverage the global interest in accelerating strategy development using the tools of engagement and motivation that are endemic to game design and gamification.
Marigo has a Bachelor of Economics degree and a Master of Business Administration from Monash University in Melbourne, Australia, as well as Executive Certificates in Systems Dynamics from the MIT Sloan Business School, and in Behaviour Design from Stanford University.
As a doctoral researcher, Marigo has been investigating the application of game design thinking in business for several years. The focus of her research is how game design thinking can help accelerate the enterprise innovation through improved levels of engagement, collaboration and knowledge sharing. Her interests are in augmenting her research with her commercial experience to refine strategic business frameworks by using the tools of engagement that are fundamental to game design. Marigo is a director of Strategic Games Lab, a Gamification Designer and Management Consultant, Co-Founder and Co-Chair of Games for Change Australia-New Zealand and a doctoral researcher on Enterprise Innovation.
